OASIS Diaries #7: Enhanced User Experience (Upcoming Features)

Greetings Natives!

Welcome back to OASIS Diaries #7!

We’ve only just started with our v2 transformation. In this entry, we’ll be taking a look at some of the features we have in development for improved user experience in Oasis v2!

Minimap

No more getting lost while wandering around town! Our cartographer and dev team is working to put together a minimap tool that will give you a smoother, easier traveling experience.

The minimap located on the bottom right of the screen will show your current location.

I spy with my little eye, a minimap to guide me!

You can click on the minimap to get a clearer view of your location where you can zoom in or out for more details.

Inventory

Packrats and item hoarders rejoice! Our upcoming inventory system will satisfy all your item collection needs.

Clicking on the backpack icon will open up the inventory menu. Here, you can view all the items you own in your account, including NFTs and non-NFT items. You will also be able to equip and change any cosmetic items and NFTs that you own.

Chat System & Channels

Are you a social butterfly? The improved chat system lets you manage your chats better for a better social experience. You can also create your own channel, or hop into existing channels to make new friends and talk about various topics in-game.

So many people to chat with, so little time

Gestures

Express yourself in the metaverse with gestures! Sometimes, words alone are not enough. Other times, you just want to dance your cares away. With gestures, you can interact with other Natives with more than words! The animation and dev teams are working to add more gestures so look forward to it!

Settings

We’re also working on expanding the settings menu to include patch update notes, as well as connecting your game account to your social media accounts!

Notifications System

Keep up to date on events and happenings in-game!

The notifications system will help you stay on top of what’s new in the Oasis metaverse. It will also help you keep track of your in-game activities by through reminder notifications for things like when your staking vesting period has ended so you can collect your vested rewards!
